With October 30th marking the 15 year anniversary of the Jam Master Jay shooting our hearts still mourn the iconic DJ’s death.
Despite records stating that there were at least four other people present at the time of his death, no one has been convicted for his murder. We know that Jay was shot, but none of the people present have provided substantial information that points to the shooter.
With leads running dry New York City police have officially ruled Jam Master Jay’s homicide a cold case.
Born Jason Mizell, Jam Master Jay rose to fame as the DJ for Run-DMC, one of the most influential rap groups of all time.
Jam Master Jay can be heard on Run-DMC hits like “My Adidas,” ″It’s Tricky,” and “It’s Like That.” He was fatally shot on October 30, 2002 at a recording studio in Jamaica, Queens. In 2009, the group was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame.
