Devonte Hart is most known as the young boy whose photo went viral during the protest of Mike Brown‘s fatal shooting in 2014. The 15-year-old is making headlines yet again, but this time it’s for a completely different reason.

Reports say, “the family SUV of Jennifer and Sarah Hart went off of a 100 ft. cliff along the Northern California coast killing at least five family members. Both of Devonte’s adoptive parents, who are white, and three of his siblings — 19-year-old Markis and Abigail and Jeremiah, both 14, — were found dead, according to authorities.”

Mendocino County Sheriff Tom Allman said “We have every indication to believe that all six children were in there. We know that an entire family vanished and perished during this tragedy.”

Hart’s neighbors have come forward revealing that the kids often asked them for food, as if they were being neglected. In turn they called Child Protective Services three days before the families murder-suicide. Watch the emotional video below.

CBS News reports, Sarah was charged with malicious punishment of a child in 2011 in Minnesota. The charge was later dismissed after she plead guilty to a domestic assault charge.
