A month after they announced the news of them joining the Netflix family, Chris Rock has some words of advice for Barack and Michelle Obama.

And while we were collectively excited about the news, the 53-year-old comedian felt differently about it. “I don’t want to live in a world where President Obama is worried about his Rotten Tomatoes score. I want him above that at all times. Make your money, but I don’t want [him] to be involved with that,” he said in an interview with The Hollywood Reporter.

Whew. And here we thought it was something that had to do with Mo’Nique‘s call for a boycott. Rock famously signed a $40M deal with the streaming platform for his 2018 comedy special, Tamborine, his first in a decade. He opened up about his infamous divorce, saying, “I thought I was the sh*t” after admitting to three affairs with then-wife Malaak Compton-Rock.

He also stars in Netflix’s The Week Of alongside Adam Sandler.

Prior to Rock’s statements, our forever President said in a statement“One of the simple joys of our time in public service was getting to meet so many fascinating people from all walks of life and to help them share their experiences with a wider audience. That’s why Michelle and I are so excited to partner with Netflix – we hope to cultivate and curate the talented, inspiring, creative voices who are able to promote greater empathy and understanding between peoples, and help them share their stories with the entire world.”
