COVID may have halted all Hollywood productions, but the deals were still closing. Some of Hollywood’s biggest stars are coming to the big and small screen in a bevy of projects. First up: Will Smith will star in the Antoine Fuqua-directedaction thriller Emancipation, about the harrowing escape of Peter, a runaway slave forced to outwit cold-blooded hunters and the unforgiving swamps of Louisiana on a tortuous journey North. There he joined the Union Army.

In April Smith and Jay-Zannounced they teamed up again on a new project — and this time it will honor the lives and legacies of those in the civil rights movement. Women of the Movement, an anthology series that chronicles the civil rights movement as told by the women behind it.
The Perfect Find will star Gabrielle Union as Jenna Jones in Netflix’s new project as a woman hopeful that her new job in beauty journalism will represent a fresh start in her life. She soon learns that her new boss, Darcy, is her frenemy. Jenna starts a relationship with the company’s videographer, Eric, and things get complicated when she learns he’s Darcy’s son.
