Watching the Mothers of the Movement at the Democratic National Convention is still keeping us awake at night. But for others, namely a host of Black celebs, the threat of gun violence and police brutality has moved them to record some really personal and emotional videos.

Common, La La Anthony, Ava Duvernay, Mara Brock-Akil, Ryan Coogler and more all took to Youtube and posted videos all under the banner of “My Life Matters,” as they invoke the names of the fallen like Sandra Bland and Laquan McDonald and what potential they all had before being killed.

It’s powerful stuff.
