When we first mentioned that Solange intended to release new music, many were shocked to hear that this was her third studio effort.
Many questioned if she still had “it” musically, while others suggested that she find another industry that was completely different from her more mainstream sibling, Beyoncé.
After taking a listen, people are realizing that Solange’s pro-black lyrics, understated sound, and Diana Ross/Patrice Rushen/Minnie Riperton-esque look is what they didn’t realize they needed in such a perilous time. Underdog much?
To add fuel to a growing fire, Solange released two videos, “Crane in the Sky” and “Don’t Touch My Hair” with the latter becoming a newfound anthem for almost any black girl. Don’t take our word for it, see the videos for yourself:
TELL US: Are you feeling Solange now after these two videos? Or not so much?
