By now, you’ve seen IG video of Nicki Minaj falling on her knees in worship of Lauryn Hill. No? Here you go.

 

Excuse me while I have an outer body experience. Shaking, crying, a MESS!!!! ? this lady is the reason. Omg. The QUEEN. Goddess! The epitome! The bar! The *faints*. Ms Lauryn Hill told me to keep “spittin dat fire”. Is this real life!???? ??????????

And while we TOTALLY get Nicki’s reaction — honestly, we might just faint if we were ever face-to-face with L-Boogie — but Ms. Hill isn’t the only female MC who deserves such praise. Whether you are off-the-wall like Azealia Banks or rugged like Bre-Z, you are standing on the shoulders of giant and their names need to be spoken.
