You know we love a good biopic! It looks like we may be getting another one really soon.
Jamie Foxx, who had an Academy Award-worthy performance as Ray Charles, is tackling the story of Motown musical icon, Marvin Gaye in the form of a limited TV series (think The People v. O.J.).
Taking the project on as a producer, Jamie has received permission from the estate (extremely important and respectful) which includes Marvin Gaye’s son, Marvin Gaye III, as well as blessings from Berry Gordy. There were many attempts on a Marvin biopic before but none until now have been approved by the estate.
“This project will be a powerful and definitive telling of Marvin Gaye’s life story,” says Marvin Gaye III, who will also executive produce the series.
Can you imagine watching the final scene with Marvin Gaye and his father??
