The trend of electing people to high office who don’t have a lot of experience continues.
Real estate mogul/reality star/President-Elect Donald Trump has tapped former neurosurgeon and 2016 Republican presidential candidate Ben Carson as Secretary to the Department of Housing and Urban Development, according to CNN.
Curiously, when rumors that Carson was up for Trump’s Secretary of Health and Human Services role, his aide Armstrong Williams had this to say: “Dr. Carson feels he has no government experience, he’s never run a federal agency. The last thing he would want to do was take a position that could cripple the presidency.”
It’s unclear how this position rationalized that stance given he was running to be Commander-in-Chief, but apparently he has because all signs point to Carson taking the Housing gig.
Just a reminder, during the campaign this is just a taste of what Trump had to say about his new pick:
With Ben Carson wanting to hit his mother on head with a hammer, stab a friend and Pyramids built for grain storage – don’t people get it?
