Every year Time names a person who they deem made the biggest splash— basically whoever they feel had the best year ever.

Looking at how this year went, we’re not AT ALL suprised by their choice for 2016:

Of course people are up-in-arms, but it’s election year.  If Hillary Clinton would have won, the cover would have for sure been hers. Since the internet is the land of  the trolling and the opinionated, let’s see what the people had to say about the new cover guy:

Remember, TIME honors the most NEWSWORTHY person of the year, NOT the most respected. Hitler and Stalin both graced the cover in their time.
