University of Florida (UF)

The University of Florida is a public, comprehensive, land-grant, research institution founded in 1853. Through its 16 colleges, UF offers more than 100 majors for students to choose from. Popular majors include Engineering, Business and Social Sciences. UF offers an African American Studies Program as a minor. University Scholars program allows students to work closely with faculty on selected projects exposing them to the world of academic research. More than 900 registered groups and organizations allow students to develop their skills in leadership and pursue their passions. Black Students Union and Black Political Science Association are among the few groups geared toward African-American students. If you want to go Greek, UF has all nine NPHC sororities and fraternities. Faculty and staff at the University of Florida are dedicated to the academic excellence of their students.
