Ella Joyce

Ella Joyce’s is no stranger to being in front of the camera.  Her many theater credits include Fences (at the National Black Theater Festival), as well as Medea and the Doll, Steppin’ into Tomorrow; she was the first to play the roles of Risa at the Yale world premiere production of Two Trains Running, Tonya in the world premiere production of King Hedley II, and Lily Ann Green in Crumbs from the Table of Joy.  Joyce’s television credits include the pilot for NewsRadio, and series regular Eleanor Emerson on Roc as well as the recurring role of Jasmine on My Wife & Kids. She has received numerous awards, nominations, and accolades for her performances in the theater, including the New York AUDELCO and the NAACP Image Nomination (for theater and television).

Her Belle’s character Gladys Crawford is “a whole lotta woman,” Gladys battles several issues: her constant weight problem: her sarcastic wit and Big Bill, her cheap brother-in-law. Gladys is Belle’s sister and took over as head chef when Belle died. When she calls Big Bill ‘William’, you know she means business!

Don’t miss the TV One network premiere of Belle’s!  Belle’s is scheduled to start “cooking” February 1 at 10/9 c.
