Juilliard School

Established in 1905, Juilliard School is the number one institution in the United States for performing artists to hone their skills in dance, drama and music. Julliard’s largest program is the music department. Popular majors include piano, violin, voice and opera. Acceptance to the school is on an audition basis only and there is some stiff competition. Each year Julliard accepts just over seven percent of the numerous students to audition. Juilliard is devoted to identifying and attracting the most gifted musicians, dancers, actors and actresses in the world. With some of the best faculty in field, Juilliard prepares each to be leaders in their craft. Students also have an opportunity to participate in community projects like ARTreach, which has partnered with Habitat for Humanity to help build homes in New Orleans after Katrina. It is the school’s mission to afford its students the utmost performing arts education so that they reach their fullest artistic potential.
