It’s not just about this celebrity or that celebrity, who got a man or left one. It’s about living life with purpose and blessing those around you.

This sister circle, Sisters Loving Sisters, Inc., got a call and they responded in the most amazing way. Donnesha Harris, 17, suffers from a rare cancer called synovial sarcoma and has been in-and-out of the hospital and chemotherapy for months. They surprised Donnesha with a full Prom glam session including a custom-made dress, a professional make-up artist, nails, hair and giftcards from all her favorite stores.

It gets better. Donnesha, had no idea she was even going to prom until her best friend Keayra Jackson’s surprise prom proposal just two days before the prom and just ten days after she was released from the hospital. Sisters Loving Sisters, Inc., a collective of her mom’s friends, went to work, rounding up a squad of Angels ready to make Donnesha’s dreams come true.

Her Angel Squad included:

  • Custom Dress: designed and created by Jamal Drummond
  • Make-up: face beat by Lesa Lowe
  • Barber: freshly faded by Willie Felton

Her hair stylist was going to make a custom wig unit, but Donnesha decided against it and proudly rocked her low fade accented with a bejeweled headband. She wants other young women battling cancer and the effects of chemotherapy to remember how beautiful they are inside and out. Be brave. Be proud. You never have to hide behind wigs or even hide what you’ve overcome. It’s your story….celebrate it!
