Patti LaBelle Releases Jazz Album & Cookbook

Last year, Patti LaBelle owned holiday dessert with those delicious Patti’s Pies. This year, she’s conquering a new genre with the release of her very first jazz album, Bell Hommage, in addition to taking over our kitchens with the release of a new cookbook, Desserts Labelle: Soulful Sweets To Sing About.

The 13-track album will feature covers of jazz classics like “Song For Old Lovers,” “The Jazz In You,” and “Wild Is The Wind.” According to reports, LaBelle worked with ex-husband Armstead Edwards, who executive produced the project, in addition to releasing the project on GPE records, the label she owns with her son. Bel Hommage is Patti Labelle’s 19th studio album.

“I have been telling people — press, friends, business associates — about my jazz album for so long with nothing to show for it, I bet they thought I was lying.” she said.

Need we say more? Clearly Ms. Patti has a hold on dessert, and now you can too! The new release makes for her fourth cookbook, and seventh book overall.
