Starbucks is the latest company to believe in essence of #BlackGirlMagic and we couldn’t be more excited. In an announcement made Wednesday, the Java chain named Rosalind Brewer as its new President and Chief Operating Officer. The former Sam’s Club executive is the first African-American and woman to hold the position.

“I am so honored to have the pleasure of working with the Starbucks leadership team to realize our highest of aspirations for the company and I look forward to working closely with the astute and talented leaders across the enterprise.”

Brewer is a Spelman College graduate and a member of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc. She will officially start her new role in October.
