Chance the Rapperdoes it again! On Friday, he tweeted out his homemade press release to announce free opening weekend tickets to the film Marshall. He bought out, not one, but TWO✌🏿 theaters and one on the south side of Chicago.
In his “press release,” he gave raving reviews of the film and directed his followers to cash in on tickets at the movie theater on 87th and another theater on Roosevelt. He tweeted:
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
I bought all the tickets all day to go see Marshall at the movie theatre on 87th and the one on Roosevelt
What is Marshall? In case you missed all the conversation happening last week…
Marshall is all about the major historical figure Thurgood Marshall, the first black Supreme Court Justice. Most notably, he is THE man behind the landmark case, Brown v. Board of Education (1954), which tackled segregation in public school systems. The movie, however, focuses on his life as a lawyer before that seminal case, where he represented a black man accused of raping a white woman.
Let’s follow Chance’s example and open up these wallets and support our history. Check out the trailer:
