Tyrese has been in the  entertainment industry for a while now and has a successful track record with modeling, singing, and acting.

Now The Fast and The Furious franchise star is looking to embark on a rap career and is planning to release an album entitled Identity Theft under the moniker Black Ty. He recently took to social media to promote the new project and to shout out singer/rapper hybrid  Lauryn Hill, and Jay Z as a few of his influences: (Caution: Language NSFW!)

If that wasn’t enough, the artist and actor spoke about his distaste for the current state of Hip Hop music, frequently called ‘mumble rap.’

“I don’t care for a million features this ain’t a mixtape #RIPMumbleRap FYI this album ain’t for you Youngstas it’s past your bedtime I’m doing this for #TheCulture my motto this album is inspired by Jay’s swag, PAC’s Soul and Sonically Dre’s ears………”

This isn’t the first time Tyrese has announced his interest in rap music, and we must admit that we do often like to keep entertainers in their original box– discouraging them from trying new spaces in entertainment. Is it possible that Tyrese can change our minds this time around?

TELL US: Are you willing to give Tyrese’s rap music a chance? Or should he stick to the rivers and lakes that he’s use to?
