At first there was only speculation from the actress’s tweets, but now it’s confirmed. Stacey Dash is running for Congress in California. The Clueless star filed paperwork on Monday to run in California’s 44th district, and we’re just as shocked as you are.
Though this district has a long history of being represented by Democrats, and is currently represented by Democrat Nanette Barragán, Dash seems to believe she has a shot.

Dash has was fired from Fox News and has been under fire for making ridiculous statements, including calling everyone’s favorite Auntie, Congresswoman Maxine Waters, a “media buffoon,” but she’s not letting her controversies from the past stop her.
Although she hasn’t released an official statement yet, the outspoken Republican tweeted on Thursday that “Things are taking shape.” She also tweeted that a formal statement is coming.
