If you haven’t seen the #IfSlaveryWasAChoice hashtag on Twitter yet, you probably should. In a TMZ interview earlier this week, Kanye West made a statement implying that for 400 years black people chose to be enslaved.
Although the comment was insane, insensitive, and utterly disrespectful, Black Twitter always finds a way to turn painful and outrageous moments into pure comedy. Hilarious! Although that was some great comedic relief, we’re going to need a sincere apology from Kanye and serious damage control at the least for his comments about slavery.
