The Academy is desperately trying to move away from the 2016 #OscarsSoWhite controversy by diversifying their voting pool in a massive way, adding more than 25 black actors and actresses to the elite organization. Some of our favorites, who quite frankly we’re surprised haven’t been a voting member until now, include Bill Bellamy, Damon Wayans, and Aunjanue Ellis.

Others include Joy Bryant, Vanessa Bell CallowayDanai Gurira and Trevante Rhodes.
