Fresh off his role in Director X‘s Super Fly remake, Michael K. Williams is joining Ava DuVernay‘s limited series, Central Park Five.

The two-time Emmy nominee will join Vera Farmiga and John Leguizamo in the four-episode project debuting in 2019 on Netflix as  Bobby McCray, the father of one of the teens implicated. Based on a true story, Central Park Five will chronicle the notorious case of five black teenagers, Antron McCray, Kevin Richardson, Yusef Salaam, Raymond Santana and Korey Wise, who were convicted of a rape they did not commit. The series will span from the spring of 1989, when each was first questioned about the incident, to 2014 when they were exonerated, and a settlement was reached with the city of New York.

DuVernay is also behind a forthcoming Colin Kaepernick comedy.
