It’s been 12 years since Spike Lee‘s Inside Man crushed it at the box office, raking in $184M. The film followed Denzel Washington‘s character as a detective trying to free dozens of hostages from a brilliantly planned bank robbery at the hands of Clive Owens.

The folks over at Netflix are looking to capitalize on the success of the first film, but with a different leading man. Meet Aml Ameen. The young actor recently starred in Idris Elba‘s feature directorial debut, Yardie.

So why no Denzel? It’s no secret the 63-year-old Academy Award winner doesn’t typically do sequels. This year’s Antoine Fuqua-directed Equalizer 2 was the first in his three-decade career. While we’d love to see him back in action, we’re not terribly upset at the idea either.

Inside Man 2 will reportedly follow the story of, “The U.S. Federal Reserve is robbed by a highly organized and cleverly orchestrated team of crooks. With dozens of tourists held hostage during a 10-hour siege, an NYPD hostage negotiator (Ameen) and a federal agent join forces to rescue the hostages and foil the heist.”

TELL US: Are you disappointed Denzel won’t be in the sequel?
