A week before the final season of Empire is set to air, Terrence Howard made a shocking announcement — he is retiring from acting. While it’s hard to say if he was indeed serious about stepping away from his 20-year career in Hollywood, in a new interview, he told Extra, “I’m done with acting. I’m done pretending.” Watch below.

We first met the now 50-year-old as Jackie Jackson on the ABC miniseries, The Jacksons: An American Dream. Since then his roles in The Best Man, Hustle & Flow, Iron Man and most recently Empire, has given Howard some of our favorite on-screen moments.
